How to Style: Your Favorite Hoop Earrings
Hoop earrings have been everywhere lately—and the numbers don’t lie. According to Google trends, searches for hoop earrings are on the rise and new designers are cropping up every day, from high end runway trends to indie-designed earrings. Hoops have become a staple in our everyday wardrobes, for every style and budget. If you’re not currently sporting a pair of hoops (or a few different pairs), it’s time to take advantage of all their various styling possibilities. Not sure how to style them, no worries we'll tell you all about it.
1. Large Oversized Hoops
I love the large hoop earrings made popular by Kim K a few years ago. She rocked her large hoop earrings with a variety of outfits that included bright red lips, tennis shoes, heels, leather skirt, sweatpants and any other outfit that you could imagine. Some celebrities like J-Lo, Rihanna and Kim have worn oversized hoops on their ears along with a ton of makeup while others prefer to go without it. If you want to step out in style wear your oversized hoops in the daytime with some bright red lipstick or at night with a statement necklace. You can pull off this look for casual occasions or for more formal occasions.
Those large hoop earrings are not just for fashion, but they are also meant to change your attitude and boost your confidence. It is the trendiest, hottest trend of this time that you have to follow.
2. Geometric Hoops
We can all agree that geometric hoop earrings are so hot right now. Heck, they’ve been around for awhile when it comes to fashion history, but never before has there been such a variety of hoop earrings available in the fashion market. The best thing about geometric hoops is that they go with…everything! I mean seriously, you could wear them at the beach and feel completely fine about it.
3. Tiny Hoops
There's never been a better time to achieve the hoop earring movement in your community. Simply put, its taking over your city with all its glory and leaving people in awe. More than half of millennials wear a hoop earring as do 60% of women. I have an array of earrings that make any outfit you wear look like the most divine thing to walk this earth. We're a generation obsessed with fashion and we've got our DNA that rises to standards like chameleons change color.
Unlike regular-sized hoops, tiny hoop earrings may seem small and unobtrusive, but this does not mean they cannot make a statement or evoke an elegant look. Many women prefer wearing stud earrings because they are less cumbersome and comfortable, yet this does not mean they have to sacrifice their fashion sense or desire to wear delicate ear accessories. With these simple styling techniques, you can rock tiny hoops even in formal situations like meetings with co-workers or in high-pressure situations such as presentations.
4. Medium Hoops
If you would like to start adding more fashionable jewelry to your collection, consider making the switch from traditional studs and hoops to medium hoop earrings. They're versatile with all casual outfits, can be worn with dressier outfits, and they'll definitely add a cool, feminine touch to your personal style. With such versatility and ease of wear, a pair of fashionable medium sized hoop earrings are worth every penny!
In my opinion the best way to wear the medium sized hoops is with a loose, messy bun and a no makeup look. It is super trendy looking because the hoop earrings can make a huge statement.
5. Like Your Favorite Fashion Blogger
The modern woman has thousands of choices when it comes to danglers, and the hoop is one of the most popular. When it comes to hoops, there's a million ways you can style them. Every year, bloggers come out with new looks that ignite the internet with hoop envy. I personally love how top models sport their hoops in unbelievable ways—I totally want to rock those same looks on my next night out...or do I?
Hoop earrings are a classic, but they can also be the perfect accessory to make your outfit stand out. Buy on trend. Hoops are one of the hottest trends in jewelry right now, so look for ones that will last beyond this season. If you're looking for something simple, try a pair of gold or silver hoops. Keep it simple! Hoops look best when you have a few other accessories going on at once—so don't feel like you need to stack them high on one earlobe or add multiple pairs to your ears (unless that's what feels good for you). The less complicated an outfit is, the more attention will be drawn toward your jewelry instead of away from it—and that's what we want!
Hopefully, this guide has helped provide a bit of clarity into the world of hoop earrings. Above all else, remember to have fun; don't get too hung up on what others might think. As long as you feel good about the hoops that you wear, you'll look good wearing them.
